Senegal

Project name: Introduction and Scaling Up of SQ-LNS

Short description of project: Project was implemented in several phases. 

Phase 1 focused on introducing SQ-LNS distribution within the Transforming Lives Through Nutrition (TLTN) program across four districts in the Louga region. The project strengthened complementary feeding practices by integrating monthly SQ-LNS distribution into community growth monitoring platforms and training regional, district, and community health actors. 

Phase 2 expanded SQ-LNS implementation to eight districts in Louga, strengthening IYCF counseling, community engagement, and quarterly child screening. 

Phase 3, Year 1 extended SQ-LNS distribution into Louga, Saint Louis (Podor, Pété), and Diourbel (Touba), integrating both community SPC sites and health facility well child visits. Phase 3, Year 2 focused on consolidating SQ-LNS delivery systems, strengthening reporting quality, and expanding IYCF counseling across Louga, Saint Louis, and Diourbel.
